reCONNECTORS

- active ideas from the mind of Chuckk Gerwig designed for reconnecting with Jesus in your TWG, prayer time, closet prayer, quiet time, devo time or whatever you like to call it.

  1. PYD "Pray Your Day": Get up 15 minutes early. Make three horizontal columns on a sheet of paper. Head one column with each of the following headings:
    • Wake up until noon
    • noon to 5 o'clock
    • 5 o'clock 'til I sleep
Under each time zone list all the classes, events, meetings, work and other activities you'll experience that day. Now take time to pray through your day, asking for God's wisdom, direction, help and protection in the day of life He gave you today. Pray that you will be a good witness to all the people you come in contact with.
  2. Morning Of Thanks! Take out your family photo album and look through the pictures slowly. As you go take time to thank God for all the great times, places and people He has put in your life, you do know He was involved right?
  3. A Walk With Jesus: Go for a walk around your neighborhood. As you walk talk to Jesus conversationally about the creation around you and life in general. Wear a blue tooth.
  4. Map: Get a Map of your town and a highlighter pen. Mark the places on the map that show
    1. Your school or workplace
    2. The streets that you have friends o
    3. Your Church
    4. Your home
As you mark each location, pray specifically for the people you know there.
  5. Face Plant: In Bible times it wasn't uncommon for people to lay down with their faces on the ground as they worshipped and prayed to God (as a sign of respect and humility). Go into your room and spend your time with God "on your face." Take special time to speak out loud to God.
  6. Dear God: Today, get yourself a piece of notebook paper, or stationary if your have some. Write a letter to God about
    1. How you're feeling
    2. What you'd like for Him to do in your life
    3. What you're thankful for in the last month
Wait a few days, then send it to your self in the mail. When you receive it back, read it out loud to Him.
  7. Pod Worship: Listen to a favorite praise music album and sing along in personal worship.
  8. Make a List: Make a list of the all following things you can think of: Anything you own that has wheels on it, anything you own that makes sound and or video, anything that you wear, anything that you sleep under, anything in your home that is too big to lift. After you complete your list take time to recognize and THANK God for all that He has allowed you to possess.
  9. Bar-B-Q: Take some paper and write down any and all the sins you can think of that you have committed without confessing to God. #1. Ask God for His forgiveness for each one individually. #2. Light the paper on fire in your home barbecue grill. #3. Go read 1 John 1:9.
  10. God's View Point: Get up high so you can see your town or neighborhood from a bird's perspective. Pray for what you see from there; neighborhood, school, town, friends homes etc.
  11. One Word Prayers: In your notebook or, on some paper write down the names of all the friends and family members you can think of. Now go down the list and write one word next to each name that describes your request to God in their behalf, (examples; joy peace, salvation, friendship etc.). When you get finished read each one out loud to the Lord.
  12. The Phone Book Project: Get out your personal phone book, or the list of phone numbers you keep. Write out a 1-sentence prayer to God for each person in your book (salvation, peace, strength in trials, healing etc.). Later pick several people from the list, call them and tell them that you were praying for them that day!
  13. Photo Album II: Take out your personal photos of friends. Pray for each person's salvation (if necessary), or for their growth, and obedience with regard to God. Don't get side-tracked...
  14. Newspaper Prayer Time: Get the newspaper. Now take time praying for the families of the people in the obituaries, the people and situations on the front page, and people in other articles. You could also pray for the people on the sports page.
  15. Write A Psalm: Write a song of praise to God. Look at the Psalms for ideas on what a psalm looks like. You could write about His power, kindness, creation, love, etc. Sing it to Him.
